Authorities Must Lead by Example on Road Safety

Authorities Must Lead by Example on Road Safety   It is surprising and disappointing to discover that some official vehicles on our roads are not equipped with essential safety tools such as fire extinguishers. These are the same items for which motorists are often penalized during routine checks.   A recent incident, where an official vehicle caught fire, exposed this contradiction. In that moment, it was responsible citizens who stepped forward with their own fire extinguishers to control the situation and prevent further damage.   This situation highlights the importance of leading by example. If road users are required to follow safety regulations, then authorities must also comply with the standards they enforce. It’s surprising that some official vehicles on our roads still lack basic safety tools like fire extinguishers — we clearly have a long way to go as a country. 🚗🔥🇳🇬 #SafetyFirst #Nigeria #RoadSafety #PublicSafety https://x.com/PEhizokhal74006/statu...

Oba Has Spoken: No Iyaloja in Benin, Only Iye-Eki

Image
Oba Has Spoken: No Iyaloja in Benin, Only Iye-Eki  By Ehizokale Ogette   I feel the Oba of Benin was very clear and succinct on this matter. There is no position called “Iyaloja” in Benin Kingdom — our tradition recognizes only **Iye-Eki**, the revered mother of the market. This distinction is not just a title; it represents centuries of cultural heritage and authority.   Edo people must stand firm in preserving their customs and institutions. Any attempt to impose foreign titles or practices undermines the authority of the palace and disrespects our ancestors. We cannot allow external influences to distort our heritage.   Our culture is our identity. It must never be discolored or diluted.

What a Country! Urgent Action Needed on Chemical-Ripened Bananas

Image
What a Country! Urgent Action Needed on Chemical-Ripened Bananas   By: Ehizokale Ogette  It is shocking and disturbing to see how harmful chemicals are being used to ripen bananas almost instantly in our markets. This careless act shows a total disregard for public health and safety, as consumers are unknowingly exposed to substances that could harm their bodies over time. It is a serious concern that demands immediate attention.   The use of such chemicals is not only dangerous but also unacceptable in any society that values the well-being of its people. These practices can lead to severe health issues, including organ damage and chronic illnesses, putting millions at risk.   The government must act swiftly by investigating, regulating, and holding offenders accountable. Strict enforcement of food safety standards and public awareness campaigns are necessary to stop this harmful trend. Protecting the lives of citizens should always come first, and it is time ...

BREAKING NEWS ‼️  GOVERNOR OKEZIE IKPEAZU SENTENCED TO DEATH BY HANGING In a landmark ruling that has stunned the nation, the Abia State High Court has sentenced former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to death by hanging after investigators traced ₦1 trillion to his secret foreign account in Australia. The money, according to court documents, was originally earmarked for the ambitious Abia International Airport project and a light rail system that promised to change the face of the state. Instead, prosecutors revealed it was siphoned off and hidden abroad. Delivering the verdict, Justice Chukwuemeka Nwogu said:  “The evidence before this court is overwhelming. This was not just theft — it was the betrayal of millions of Abians who were denied progress and hope. Such crimes against humanity must carry the highest penalty.” He added: “With ₦1 trillion, Abia could have had two airports, a modern rail line, and stable electricity. Instead, the state was left in decay. This sentence ...

By: Ehizokale Ogette   INDEPENDENCE DAY SPEECH BY HIS EXCELLENCY, SENATOR MONDAY OKPEBHOLO, THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF EDO STATE My good people of Edo State, Today, we celebrate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, a day that reminds us of the sacrifices of our founding fathers, who fought with courage and vision to give us a free nation. It is a day of pride, reflection, and, above all, renewed hope.
